San Diego, CA. April 19, 2017 – The Board of CellTech Metals Inc. announced the appointment of David L. Britten as an independent director of CellTech Metals Inc..
“David is a management consultant advising at the executive level on strategy and business process excellence. He spent over thirty years in the steel industry and possesses broad experience in business transformation, business development, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, applications engineering, project development and execution, innovation, and research and development,” said Doug Cox, President and CEO of CellTech. “We are thrilled to have his enthusiastic participation on our board as we build our company and marketplace.”

Most recently, Britten served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of U. S. Steel Corporation (USS) where he held several senior management positions from 2011 through 2016. Prior to joining USS, Britten served as Executive Vice President of Sweden-based steelmaker SSAB and President of SSAB’s Americas division. He began his career in the steel industry in 1985 when he joined the former IPSCO as a product development engineer in Calgary, Alberta. At IPSCO, he served in a variety of increasingly responsible management roles in several disciplines, including quality assurance, manufacturing, and business and corporate development. After SSAB acquired IPSCO in 2007 he was named Senior Vice President of Steel Products for the company’s IPSCO division.
A native of Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, Britten earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Nova
Scotia (now known as Dalhousie University) in Halifax in 1983. He obtained a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Queen’s University
in Kingston, Ontario in 1985, and a diploma in Business Management from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management in 2005. During his career Britten has been active in several prominent industry trade associations including serving on the boards of the American Iron and Steel Institute, the Steel Manufacturers Association and the Metals Service Center Institute.
